Day 141 La Mision Mexico
I had to get myself sorted out though and if I wasn’t going back to the US I would have to return to Tijuana and hand in my form. It was only 40 minutes up the coast but since I hadn’t done it on the way down would have to get it out of the way if I ever hoped to return to the US. At least it wasn’t raining this time, so I put my Spanish course on the stereo and went up to the place where 6 policemen were killed the week before in drug gang violence. I parked up near the road and walked over to the border to join the queue. I didn’t even bother asking if there was another line I could join to simply hand over my card, I stood with probably a thousand people for an hour until the line ended at the woman in booth and I could walk back to my car. I guess they don’t get many people queuing up to walk right back. Back in La Mision I caught up with Sheena at a local bar where she was having happy hour with Nathan. Hopefully he’ll get some inspiration and head off travelling himself sometime, but we were happy to bitch about Americans with him and laugh at the guy singing at the Karaoke jukebox. Rob was at work but we all went back to his house to listen to music and chill out until he arrived. Sheena has a serious Southpark addiction so we watched that for a while until Rob came back and we insisted she experience Time Bandits which she had never seen. She lasted most of the way through…. I think she was tired by Nathan and my repeated attempts to get some interesting stories out of her about her childhood. :p
