When I was working all the time weekends were either spent on the job or cacthing up on sleep, my social life was a disaster and a constant stream of no-date Saturday nights was boring and depressing. Since I left all that has changed and I am so happy with life right now. Maybe people will think its just superficial nonsense, meeting up with strangers, having drinks with people I met on the internet but its so much deeper than that. Everyone deserves to live, travel and have an interesting life and the people I meet are either stuck somewhere and saving to go away or living their dreams of moving around the planet. Couchsurfing is definetly the way to live you life, I love it!

On Friday it was the start of the Boston Invasion to Montreal. You get a big group of people in a nearby city and they get organised and come over to’invade’ another community for the weekend. These are the only kind of invasions Americans should be allowed to participate in. I had moved over to Daniella’s place to give Mounia a bit of a rest from hosting me, and she’s a bit far out of town too so it was a strategic move on my part as well. We caught up with her at some authentic Mexican place we had dinner at and headed over for a drink at the meeting place in a pub in town but they still hadn’t turned up. Renae was there and quite a few new people I hadn’t met so we chatted away until the Boston people started to trickle in. We were kind of tired, Renae was bonding with a fellow Aussie but Mounia, Daniella and myself stopped being anti social and eventually went to meet them.

I thought I should make an effort, my plan had been to go to Toronto in the morning and then carry on to Chicago with Britni who I had been to Niagara with but it was not to be. Daniella’s flatmate was there with her girlfriend, and although Im not really sure what I said (and it could have been any number of slightly controversial topics) but she didn’t like it. Im hoping Daniella can find out so I can maybe address the issue. So we were dropped off at the Metro, jumped out and Daniella was told I wouldn’t be riding the next with them. It could have been some ploy to keep me in Montreal for another day :) So I was once again stuck in a Canadian City as my ride fell through! I needed to get to the States and look for a car, this part of my plan was moving slowly and the shuttle wouldn’t be waiting for me. I wanted to see it.

Boston is in the States, and here we had a big group of people from there for the weekend, and no doubt they would be going back. A plan started to form in my mind so I got up, stood in the middle of them and started making friends. I even tried not to be controversial! :) They were all very late though, they got in at 1am, nearly 3 hours late, but seemed like a good bunch. It was a relief to know they wouldn’t just suddenly break into French with the person standing next to me. Americans… who would have thought I would like them :p Again with the inapproriate comments eh??? Doesn’t everyone know Im joking!!
